MYANMAR VISA
Visa Information
There are 10 types of visas that are allowed by the
government for those who want to come Myanmar (Burma).
1. On Arrival Visa
To promote travels and tourism in the country, the Myanmar
Government eases visa processing for the foreign visitors. This is
can be applied through the authorized Travel Agent from Myanmar on
the internet by filling the form. It gives 28 days to stay in
Myanmar. For overstay, you can pay USD3 per day when you leave at
the Immigration counter at the airport. Visa on Arrival is granted
on prior arrangement with the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism.
2. Transit Visa
This is a kind of visa which allows for 24 hours only for those
who want to take transit flight in Myanmar. To do so, there must be
country endorsement letter, visa of the country and onward booking
of the flight.
3. Tourist Visa
This is a kind of visa which allows for 28 days (4 weeks) in Myanmar
for the tourist who are Foreign Independent Travelers (FIT) and
Package Tours. This is issued at the Myanmar Embassy or Consulate.
4. Business Visa
This is a kind of visa which allows from 10 weeks and can be
extended for 6 months to 1 year depending on the situation. This
visa intend for those who want to set up a business in Myanmar.
5. Entry Visa
This is a kind of visa for those who can not get tourist visa,
business visa. This allows for 28 days to stay in Myanmar. e.g. Those
who come Myanmar for wedding, etc.
6. Social Visit Entry Visa
This is a kind of visa for those (ex- Myanmar nationalities) who has
left Myanmar and immigrant abroad. When they want to come and visit
their relatives, they have to get this kind of visa at the Myanmar
Embassy or Consulate. It allows for 28 days and can be applied for
extension.
7. Diplomatic Gratis Official Courtesy Visa
This is a kind of visa for the diplomats. When these people want to
come Myanmar on duty, this visa is issued FOC and can be applied for
extension.
8. Gratis Official Courtesy Visa
This is a kind of visa for those who holds a special passport in the
country which is placed Myanmar Embassy. When these people want to
come Myanmar on duty, this visa is issued FOC and can be applied for
extension.
9. Multiple Journey Entry Visa
This is a kind of visa for those who are doing Joint-Venture
business in Myanmar. They can get this visa for 6 months or 1 year
and can be applied for extension by recommendation from the
concerned organization. 10. Meditation Visa
If you intend to come to Myanmar to meditate in a course you
require a "meditation" visa rather than a "tourist" visa. In order
to obtain a "meditation visa" for Myanmar. You can apply for this
visa at the Myanmar Embassy by the endorsement letter from the
mediation center. It allows from 28 days to 3 months.
Myanmar VOA InformationIn accordance with the rules and regulations of
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Hotel and Tourism,
an authorized travel and tours company can obtain the Visa On
Arrival (VOA) if their clients do not get the visa from the Myanmar
Embassy.
To apply for these visas, a valid passport with entry visa is required for
all visitors. Children over seven years of age require a separate visa even
traveling on parent's passport.
Custom Information
Now the tourists do not need to exchange US$
200 upon arrival, a minimum of USD 200 per person or equivalent with
Foreign Exchange Certificate 200 Units (called FEC). If you bring
more than 2000USD it is necessary to declare at the Custom counter.
One Lap Top, One camera and one mobile phone set are allowed to
bring in.
